Author Guidelines

Preparing a submission

  1. Submit an original manuscript that is not under consideration by another journal.
  2. Include the title, abstract, keywords, main text, references and figure or table captions. Research papers should explain their methods, results and limitations.
  3. Provide a separate title page with author names, affiliations, corresponding-author email, author contributions, funding and competing interests.
  4. Remove identifying details from the main manuscript for anonymous review.
  5. Use a consistent reference style and include DOI links where available. Upload an editable manuscript and any supplementary files.
  6. Report ethics approval and informed consent when applicable. Describe data and code availability, and disclose material use of AI-assisted tools.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
