Abstract

LFW's 6,000 verification pairs use 7,701 distinct photographs. Of those photographs, 3,217 appear in multiple pairs and account for 62.63 percent of all pair-side appearances. Most are reused only twice, but two appear six times. This descriptive audit distinguishes the number of images from their comparison exposure. It does not estimate recognition errors or invalidate the prescribed identity-disjoint folds. The findings motivate preserving reference and output links in subject-preserving video evaluation, where many scored frames or comparisons can share the same small set of source observations.
