Abstract

A reference background can help a similarity system recognize an image without helping it recognize the person. This conceptual analysis proposes matched reference-context tests for subject-preserving video, separating background changes from changes to the subject's observable evidence. ARGUS provides the motivating multi-view conditioning framework. No images are edited and no generated outputs are measured here. The design emphasizes that masking or replacing context can itself alter image quality, so a lower score after background removal is not automatically proof that the original generator relied on an irrelevant cue.
