Abstract

Partition random search must balance discovering regions with sharpening candidate estimates. Sample allocation makes that balance explicit. The evaluation should report unique coverage and replication counts separately and independently check the final candidates. A precisely compared discovered set can still be inadequate if the procedure never visits a useful region. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
